IMPORTANT COPYRIGHT INFORMATION! I cannot scan photos for which you do not own the copyright or have the "right to print" (for example, wedding, school, church and professional sittings from a photographer or studio). Please bring signed permission from the copyright owner with you for those photos you want scanned.

One Shoebox or Dozens of Shoeboxes?
The more shoeboxes you have the better. Bring 'em on in! You're busy enough so why add more to your plate trying to do it all yourself or feel guilty about procrastinating on this project? I can get the job done and free up your time to do what you really want: time with your family; a massage; sleeping; dancing; cooking; exercising; karaoke; stand-up comedy; gardening; whatever your heart desires.
It doesn't matter if you have a few hundred photos or thousands, it's time to take action to get those irreplaceable memories scanned and protected TODAY! With every option available, you have no more excuses to get moving on this.
Photos are our most important and irreplaceable connection to the past. Oral stories die out or get changed along the way. But the mysteries and stories of the past revealed in our photos never changes. They might fade due to time or the environment. However, the moment captured in that one second in time, even from a century or more ago, lives on, IF they are preserved! Scanning, of course, is the way to preserve your treasured memories. What’s the best way to do that?
- Gather all your photos together.
- Decide if you want to scan all your photos or just select ones.
- Remove the photos from albums that can be safely extracted, or I can remove them for you (optional service) if you don’t have the time. Photos that can’t be removed can be scanned by the page, and if desired, each photo digitally extracted. Call or email for additional information, instructions and pricing for photo albums.
- Sort the photos into categories if you like such as by person, years, theme, etc.

Scanning Terms of Service
Archival Service: Shoebox Photo Scans LLC (“SPS”) is an archival service and does not take any ownership in submitted content (“Content”) of the (“Client”). As custodians of a Client's Content, SPS has agreed to take physical possession of Client's Content for the sole purpose of making a digital or electronic copy of the Client's Content. At the conclusion of service, SPS will return all Content and digital copies to the Client. SPS does not retain any ownership over Client's physical or digital copy. Services currently available only in the Kansas City area.
Client's Ownership of Content (Copyright): We cannot scan photos that have a copyright without the written permission of the copyright owner. This includes portrait or professional photos (e.g., wedding, church and school photos), whether they contain a copyright notice or not. Being in possession of or owning the photo is not the same as owning the copyright to it. Failure to obtain permission to reproduce may subject Client to prosecution under Federal Copyright Laws.
Client May Not Submit Illegal/Illicit Content: Client's submitted content cannot be either illegal to reproduce or contain illicit material. SPS retains the right to reject in whole or in part any portion that SPS has a good faith belief does not conform to this agreement. An illustrative list of content: material that is threatening, profane, abusive, deceptive, pornographic, obscene, defamatory, slanderous, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate. Further, SPS will not process Content that advocates illegal activity or harms minors in any way. SPS reserves the right to report to law enforcement authorities any Content that may be illegal. SPS will cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies in any resulting investigation.
Limitation of Liability and Indemnification of Shoebox Photo Scans LLC: Client agrees that SPS does not warrant or make any guarantees about its services. Client further agrees that SPS cannot be liable for the loss of any Content by a third party agent of Client, common carrier, or natural acts beyond the control of SPS (“Acts of God”). In the event that SPS destroys, damages or loses Client's Content, intentionally or unintentionally, the sole remedy available to Client is replacement of an equivalent amount of unexposed equivalent film or electronic media plus processing. Client also agrees to indemnify and hold harmless SPS for any loss or damages arising from transporting, processing or returning Content. Client will pay or indemnify SPS, affiliated companies, employees or agents for litigation costs of any claims arising out of Client's improper submission of Content, whether by the Copyright or other laws of any nation.
